Lancair International, Inc. is announcing the sale of all of its out-of-production Assets, Lancair brand, and Kit Components Support Assets to new Ownership based out of Uvalde, Texas.

Effective February 6, 2017, composite kit-plane pioneers Lancair International Inc. and Kit Components Inc. announces the sale of all non-Evolution assets to a new company, Lancair International LLC, based in Texas. The sale includes all assets, intellectual designs, and ongoing support business for all currently “out of production” Lancair aircraft kit models, including 320/360, IV, IV-P, ES and Legacy aircraft.

The new company will continue to support over 2000 current customers through this transition as well as assist the new owners into the future. The company will be based in South Texas, moving parts inventory, production fixtures and support materials from Redmond, Oregon to their new home at Garner Field (KUVA) in Uvalde, Texas. The move will also involve bringing the assets and inventory from Lancair’s facilities in the Philippines back to the United States. The company plans to return to production, bringing back the Legacy and ES models along with enhancements to the existing fleet and new aircraft designs.

Conrad Huffstutler will be President of Lancair International. Mr. Huffstutler is an experienced pilot and winner of the 2013 EAA “Golden Wrench” award for his painstaking Grumman FM-2 Wildcat restoration, and is thrilled to be a part of the new Lancair team.  A licensed airframe mechanic, he has substantial experience in a variety of vintage and experimental aircraft. Conrad and his team are excited to take on the support of the Lancair community and look forward to new developments in this unique family of aircraft.

From the new Uvalde, Texas home, Lancair plans to offer existing aircraft owners full support with parts, technical assistance and documentation as well as maintenance, repairs and inspections for Lancair and other experimental aircraft. In addition, on-site access to maintenance, avionics, paint and interior completion facilities will create a convenient “one-stop” solution for owners and kit builders.

The facility in Redmond, Oregon will focus on development of the Evolution Turbine and Piston models of airplanes as part of the newly developed “Evolution Aircraft Company.”
